Project Summary
Yugen was a podcast channel on service design industry topics hosted by the SCAD SDN student club. The podcast invited industry professionals to share their real-world experiences with college students and anyone who is interested in the field.
Although I am not a service design major, the idea of service design fascinated me. After taking two classes, I can be sure that every service design project involves management skills and creativity, and is all about people.
If you wonder what Service Design is, I encourage you to listen to the first episode, and I hope this idea of design can inspire you on how to build a better workplace for your team that encourages productivity, a better environment for your customer that encourages brand loyalty, and a better society for everyone that encourages happiness, all with human connection.

1st Episode: What is Service Design

My major is actually Business of Beauty and Fragrance, but taking a class in service design has changed my perception a lot, in a good way. I was attracted to the class when I saw the term “service”, which made me believe, this major is a human center field, and it helps people, which it does. So yes, service design, for my understanding, is the way to prove how helping each other, how people collaborate together, can create a greater value to everyone. Everyone can win here. It is somehow my vision in marketing or the business world. (5:23 – 6:35)
